The winner of our $250 Gift Certificate is Jennifer Parks, the Education Specialist at Southern Seven Head Start in Ullin, Illinois.  Southern Seven Head Start serves over 600 children 0-5 in 12 sites, a number of which include bilingual children.  Says Jennifer, "I work with over 80 Education Staff and am always looking for new ways and resources to serve our children."

The winner of our $50 Gift Certificate is Sheba Koshy from Harrington Park School in Harrington Park, NJ.  Sheba is a K-8 ESL teacher who also teaches Middle School Spanish.  In addition to using Spanish books for her Spanish classes, she is planning to use Korean books for her ESL students (mainly in the mainstream classes).  She says, "Research shows that when a student is a strong reader in their own language, that ability will transfer on into their next language."
 
Language Lizard Bilingual Book Giveaway Details / Rules
 
1. Two winners will be selected. Grand prize winner will receive a $250 Language Lizard gift certificate which can be used to purchase any of the bilingual / multilingual products available on the Language Lizard website. Second place winner will win a $50 Language Lizard gift certificate.
 
2. To enter the contest, fill out and submit the Language Lizard Giveaway Entry Form available at the bottom of this page. Every entry form submission counts as one entry "point". Individuals can receive additional entry "points" by taking the following actions (one point per action taken):

The maximum number of entry points one can receive is 5 (one for the form submission and one each for the actions above).

3. Only one entry form submission per person is permitted. It is not allowed for one person to enter with multiple email addresses.
 
4. Only those 18 or older can enter.
 
5. Winners will be chosen at random using random.org's sequence generator.
 
6. The winning gift certificates can only be used for US or Canada shipments.
 
7. Winners must provide a valid email address to receive the gift certificate. Emails provided to Language Lizard will never be shared with any outside party for any reason. Gift certificates will be sent via email and winners will be notified by email (and by phone when working phone number is provided).
 
8. The giveaway ends at midnight (United States PST) on October 15, 2011. Language Lizard reserves the right to extend the closing date. Any extension will be noted on this site.
 
9. Vulgar or offensive entries or comments on the Language Lizard blog or on Facebook will be removed and the commenter will not be entered in the giveaway.
 
10. Language Lizard reserves the right to disqualify anyone cheating, not following entry details, tampering with the entry process, using automated entries or doing anything against the spirit of this giveaway. This giveaway is meant to support language learners, so please be honest and kind!
 
11. No purchase is required to enter the contest. Void where Prohibited by Law.
